Mask
"Mask" is an ancient relic, unearthed from the dense embrace of the rainforest, lying beside the vine-choked remains of a long-forgotten temple. Carved from a dark, dense wood, possibly petrified over millennia, its surface is deeply weathered, etched with the faint, intricate patterns of a civilization swallowed by time. Patches of moss and verdant lichen cling to its contours, further cementing its connection to the wild, untamed environment from which it emerged.
The mask's features are stylized and enigmatic, neither fully human nor entirely animal, suggesting a profound spiritual significance to its creators. Empty, cavernous eye sockets gaze out with an unsettling intensity, hinting at forgotten rituals and ancient beliefs. Remnants of what might have been vibrant mineral pigments, now faded to dull earthy tones, cling in the deepest crevices, a ghost of its original, awe-inspiring appearance. "Mask" serves as a tangible link to a lost world, a silent testament to the power and mystery that once thrived beneath the rainforest canopy.
